Periods of Snow, Wind Chill -28

Brrr, it’s been a chilly New Year so far! The wind chill makes it difficult for me to work on my goal of being more active because I can’t realistically go outside and walk when it gets this cold. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a wimp! I have all the clothing a person needs to be outside in winter and I readily wear it — coat, hat, scarf, gloves, boots — I don’t give a rat’s ass about fashion as long as I am not freezing to death. But when the cold literally takes your breath away, you need to take further precaution and stay inside. When the temperatures rise to -10 or so I will be able to start walking outside no problem.

This morning I got on my Wii Fit for the second time this week. The little Wii dude told me I am obese still, which didn’t surprise me but what did surprise me was that he says I have gained 2 pounds since Wednesday. Two pounds! Like what the hell?! I am not sure why. The clothing I wore was pretty much the same. It’s morning when you are supposed to be your lightest truest weight. I haven’t started the healthy eating regimen yet, but I haven’t been eating everything in sight and totally gorging either. The only thing I can think of is that my period might be coming along any day now or maybe the last time I weighed in I had my morning poo before I did it (which I did not today). I hadn’t wanted to start tracking every morsel of food I put in my mouth, but if this gaining pounds quickly when I think I should be the same thing continues I will have to do that in order to figure out what is going on.

Speaking of tracking food, I logged into the Sparkpeople website this morning. I wanted to see my final steps amount for yesterday because even though I am cooped up in my apartment I really tried yesterday. I got 6136 steps yesterday, which is a huge WOO HOO for me since I am not a very active person normally at all. While I was in there I noticed another tracker on my Fitness page that is tracking the KM I walk this year. Oh yay because I have been taking my daily miles figures, converting them to KM and adding them all up … but my figures do not match the total on the Fitness page, so I’m not sure what is up with that. Maybe there is a lag in updating it, or maybe it only takes my workout steps into consideration not every step I make … but this morning it is saying I have walked 2.34 km in 2015 … yeah that’s not so fun. Especially considering I put on 4.38 km just yesterday with those 6136 steps. And I had calculated 5.6 km total since the 1st of the month up to and including Wednesday. That’s 9.98 km so far in 2015, which is kind of a huge difference. Maybe it only updates that part at the end of the week? I don’t know, but I will keep an eye on it and keep my own figures just in case I can’t use that. But holy Yay if I can!

I have been a member there pretty much since they first started. I learned a lot there. The times I use it religiously I experience great success. This year I don’t want to get obsessive about it. Basically I know by now how to live right, I just need to get on with it and do it. Hopefully that will be enough.
