Vacay Day

I’m not really blogging twice today because I had started the Hillbilly Ninja post yesterday morning when all of a sudden Jay came home from work. He decided to take an unscheduled vacation day rather than spend another 8 hours just trying to get the time in standing around on the street downtown, because he’s without a welder and the proper equipment to get this new job done.

So he arrived home around shortly before 8am more than a little pissed off. A little TLC later though and he came around to his usual self. We ended up having a really good day. I pampered him a little because he’s stressed about not being able to do his job right. We watched trashy television and went out for lunch to Thomas’ Buffet. The fried chicken was really good yesterday, not at all greasy, yet juicy and yummy, the best I’ve had there so far. I also had potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, a honey bun, lemon pepper chicken wings, mashed potatoes, chicken dressing, sweet potatoes, carrots, corn, green beans, broccoli casserole, corn, fried green tomatoes, and a slice of cheesecake. Yesterday’s cheesecake was a new kind I hadn’t tried there before, coffee/cinnamon, and scrum! Of course we ate too much, so we pretty much skipped dinner. I made mini grilled cheese sandwiches and Jay had two and tossed salad. I only had one and then a banana later.

Watched Dr. Oz while Jay sat outside getting the scoop on the workday from John so he could do the paperwork. Was surprised to learn I have the vagina of a woman half my age! lol Dr. Oz says it’s a “use or lose it” situation though, which pleased the Ugly Naked Guy when I told him about it later.

Mom called me to tell me the status of my income tax. Looks like I’ll get a refund, which is good. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been this broke and I hate it. I don’t like being a “kept” woman. Jay says it’s his “job” to keep me, but I very much miss my independence, and unfortunately while Jay can afford to keep me, he can’t afford to pay my credit card bill, which is in Mom’s name so I can’t be late with payments or skip any because it’s not my credit that’s affected. It’s been a stressful few months so far in 2010, but things are looking up and I’m hoping we’ve turned the corner.

Crazy dreams last night! In one of them I was back to being a teenager, about 13, fooling around with Troy Underhill. A very young Jay was in the dream too. He looked different and it made me wonder when I woke up if he’s right and we did meet when we were kids. Maybe I was conjuring up some long forgotten memories. The celebrity guest star was very weird … Corey Feldman circa The Lost Boys days! He was running around the building we were in, painting the peep holes in all the doors with black paint. I don’t really remember the plot of the dream, but I think it was some sort of bizarre love triangle.

This morning I sent Jay off to work again with a healthy packed lunch. He said if it’s the same situation as yesterday, he’ll take another vacation day and be back, but so far no sign of him. Fingers crossed he’s got the people and equipment he needs in order to do the job.

I’m so happy to be back to blogging and writing in general. Today was the 7th day in a row that I wrote 750 words creatively, plus I’ve kind of blogged twice. It seems the more I write, the more I want to write, which can only lead to good things.
