99 Things

Inspired by Wandering Coyote. The rules are simple, just bold the things you’ve done. Explanations are optional but interesting and fun!

1. Started my own blog (it will be 5 years in February, much has happened since then)
2. Slept under the stars (not in any sort of organized camping activity, but yeah, been there, done that, am glad not to still have the bug bites to prove it)
3. Played in a band
4. Visited Hawaii
5. Watched a meteor shower (several, but there is one I will never forget, an autumn evening with the sky falling and me on my back in the Catholic graveyard oohing and ahhing with my boyfriend)
6. Given more than you can afford to charity (jeeze if I give any, it’s more than I can afford)
7. Been to Disneyland/world
8. Climbed a mountain
9. Held a praying mantis
10. Sang a solo
11. Bungee jumped
12. Visited Paris
13. Watched a lightning storm at sea
14. Taught myself an art from scratch
15. Adopted a child
16. Had food poisoning (not so bad that I had to go to the emergency, but I have a history with questionable meat and meat products)
17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
18. Grown your own vegetables
19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France
20. Slept on an overnight train (well, if you can call it sleeping, yeah, many times traveling to and from Toronto)
21. Had a pillow fight
22. Hitch hiked (used to hitchhike everywhere when I was a kid)
23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill
24. Built a snow fort
25. Held a lamb
26. Gone skinny dipping
27. Run a Marathon
28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice
29. Seen a total eclipse (most recently of the moon, but also the sun. I remember one when I was in grade 4 or 5 and everyone was making these crazy contraptions in boxes so you could look at it without burning your eyes out)
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset (both, many times and coming at them from both ends)
31. Hit a home run
32. Been on a cruise
33. Seen Niagara Falls in person
34. Visited the birthplace of my ancestors
35. Seen an Amish community
36. Taught yourself a new language
37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied (once upon a time I did, yeah, how crazy is that?!)
38. Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
39. Gone rock climbing
40. Seen Michelangelo’s David
41. Sung karaoke (embarrassingly yes)
42. Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
43. Bought a stranger a meal in a restaurant (if coffee counts)
44. Visited Africa
45. Walked on a beach by moonlight
46. Been transported in an ambulance
47. Had your portrait painted (not painted, but drawn)
48. Gone deep sea fishing
49. Seen the Sistine Chapel in person
50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris
51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling
52. Kissed in the rain
53. Played in the mud
54. Gone to a drive-in theater (I miss the drive-in!)
55. Been in a movie (does voyeur porn count?)
56. Visited the Great Wall of China
57. Started a business
58. Taken a martial arts class
59. Visited Russia
60. Served at a soup kitchen
61. Sold Girl Scout Cookies
62. Gone whale watching
63. Got flowers for no reason (yes, and it made me very suspicious. The guy didn’t last long after that with me)

69. Saved a favorite childhood toy (poor Poodle still lives in my trunk)

76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London
77. Broken a bone
78. Been on a speeding motorcycle (and did jumps! and loved it! wish i could find another bike guy)

80. Published a book (soon!)

82. Bought a brand new car (almost, one time, as a gift for someone i loved)
83. Walked in Jerusalem
84. Had my picture in the newspaper (many times, but less now)
85. Read the entire Bible
86. Visited the White House
87. Killed and prepared an animal for eating (well i’ve killed fish, prepared fish, partridge, deer, moose … and even rabbit if I recall, but never prepared what I killed)
88. Had chickenpox (oi! did i ever!)
89. Saved someone’s life
90. Sat on a jury (perhaps soon, got a summons)
91. Met someone famous (lots of authors, politicians, journalists, some musicians)
92. Joined a book club (not like Oprah’s, but like Doubleday)
93. Lost a loved one
94. Had a baby
95. Seen the Alamo in person
96. Swam in the Great Salt Lake
97. Been involved in a lawsuit (do collections things count?)
98. Owned a cell phone
99. Been stung by a bee

    Jeez, I had no idea you’d moved digs! I was wondering why nothing had shown up in my feed reader for ages! I’ll subscribe to this feed for sure, though.

  2. Yeah, there’s a story that goes with that whole porn thing … suffice it to say I don’t think I’ll ever be able to run for office … I also might have trouble adopting a child 🙂

    Been trying out the WordPress for a little while now, but haven’t really been blogging much. I do love doing memes! And comparing mine with other bloggers. Fun stuff!
